Misteries and myths ^3^ :3

THE CRYING WOMAN - LA LLORONA

This is a classic tale told through centuries of a woman who walks around the rivers of Mexico crying for her children.

I was 9 years old when I went to Mexico to visit my Grandmother. The first night that I got there was when she told me.

The story goes like this. Before Mexico was conquered by Hernan Cortez in 1519, there was a inidgionous woman named "la Malinche" she befriended Hernan and told him how he could conquer Mexico, she betrayed her own people to be with this man that she eventually fell in love with and had 3 children with him. After the conquest of Mexico, Hernan left for Spain to marry a Spanish woman - leaving "La Malinche" behind to be the ridicule of all her people. She was hurt and angry that he would do such a thing that she, out of spite, drowned all three of her children in the river, She then killed herself.

Many people who would camp out in the woods can hear her crying "Mis hijos, mis hijos, donde estan mis hijos" meaning "My children, My children, where are my children"

I wasn't told specifically where in Mexico, but it seems to me that she roams all of Mexico (I heard this story told by many people) If anyone has had an experience of "La Llorona".

Again this is a classic ghost story of Mexico. Needless to say, I was never a fan of camping in the woods after that :-) Sumbitted From: Nina, California, USA.

What is the myth or mistery about?
What is your personal Opinion?
Why do you think people believe in this things?
Do you personally beive in myths or misteries?
Mention any expirience related to this thing

It's about a woman that killed her child, and then she cry forever for she.

In my personal opinion, I think it isn't real, there must be a woman, thast happened that to she, but, i think they aren't shouting around that, i think taht musn't be comercialized and transformed form reality.

Because it has pass form generation and generations, or maybe they have had and extranormal encounter with it.

Some, Like UFOS, but thing's like ghost i think they do not scare people.

One day at night, I was with my cousind looking at sky, and we see and UFO, it was like a giant white plate or ballon that shines, but that not have LEDS or Lights, And then it dissaperas in super speed, it was terrifyingly Amazing.

Am I a superstitious person? D:

Dr Ben Goldacre

What is the general superstitious about?
What is my personal opinion in that case?
Why do you think people are superstitious?

The doctor make an experiment giving their students a lucky ball and he told them to desire that ball will function, the case, it's that this happended, So it really function?

"So far it has turned out to be a lucky ball”. For the other half, the experimenter just said “this is the ball everyone has used so far”. Each participant had 10 goes at putting on the green, trying to get a hole-in-one from a distance of 100 cm: and lo, the students playing with a “lucky ball” did significantly better than the others, with a mean score of 6.42, against 4.75 for the others."

Then tehy make this task, and see, what happended:

"Then they moved on to a second experiment. 51 students were asked to perform a motor-dexterity task, an irritating fiddly perspex game where they had to get 36 little balls into 36 little holes by tilting the box. Beforehand, they were randomly assigned to one of three groups, each hearing a different phrase just before starting. The superstition activator was “I press the thumbs for you”, a German equivalent to the English expression “I keep my fingers crossed”. The two “control” or comparison groups were interesting. One group were told “I press the watch for you”, with the idea that this implied a similar level of encouragement (I’m not so sure about that) and the other were told: “on ‘go’ you go”. As predicted, the participants who were told someone was keeping their fingers crossed for them finished the task significantly faster."

In my opinion, the thing is that the people put his mind on that so, they have like " fate" and that impulse of mind power helps you to be motivated, your mind, makes everything.

I think it's because they have to depend more from other things than form themselves, I think that's the only reason, or maybe about the family, or the fact that they have to beileve in something.
